Spirituality and Scientific temper

 

Science is often accused of working against religion, this perception in common men’s mind is formed because of the basic definition of science which require experimental proof to believe on for any existence. This is completely against spirituals which moves by peace of mind rather than the existent of the fact. If the two things are contradictory than famous scientist Albert Einstein would have never said that, God can’t play dice with the universe. Most of the scientist, like him, blindly believe on the God and for all, God is the entity who cannot be seen or perceived it can only  felt in mind and heart, as Lord Krishna said in Geeta “I exist inside everyone, look for me inside you only.” Lord Krishna also emphasizes the fact of science and said science is equally important as religion for the development of humans and one should move towards either science or enlightenment. However, people took only the first idea and almost forgotten the later till the time world sees the Renaissance. Renaissance found in Europe and Europe still holds the advantage of first in science even after four centuries.

 

Both spirituality and science are developed by us and both have widely different goals for their invention. Whereas former invented for the piece of mind while later for the luxurious and smooth life. From there purpose both seems to be completely independent of each other and it really sounds that if both are optimized, could bring the green life all around. However, with time things developed quite widely and actually they end up tangled completely and too interfering in one another. This interference leads to war, but for most of the time religion is the sole winner. Whether its time of Aristotle, Galileo or Einstein religion always holds the heavier side. There were certain time in the history when science is awarded the crown of enemy of church and people are actually forbidden to study science. However, with need of time science is developed and became something so common today that one can’t imagine life without it and even history seems very odd if one looks some centuries back in time.

 

The reasons for the science took so long to make it presence in history is that religion teaches how to avoid wrong while science teaches how to do right. Religion is generally handled by the people who want too much power in there hands while science in the hands of those who love it. Religion always tries to answer things which are beyond human control while science always tries to bring thinks under control. Religion always tried to bring peace of mind while science always increased the uncertainty. Religion answer the question of life while science deepened it. Religion try to control the viciousness while science always provided men with weapons of destruction. Religion asked to stay in calm with nature while science tried to dig it down. Religion always moved in the direction of what seems most obvious while science moved to what seems provable.

 

Religion and science always sees the life differently and have vastly different solution. In present time where education is actually means to be educated in terms of science only, people are start taking spirituality a myth and religion a burden. After long history of success of science, future of planet seems in the hand of science and completely unanswerable from religion. Pollution, environment degradation, use of harmful chemicals is what which making the future completely dependent on science. These are some negative aspects, to see there are some positive aspects also, like communication, ease, luxury and many others. Science made life for many quite easier and faster too, buildings all around us could provide homes for billions while technology nourishes the whole world from a small land. Most of the old time epidemics are not more than a joke today and even the parts of atom cannot hide themselves today. Science had affected our world to its deepest and become the part of its roots. People are hoping for more miracles to happen from science.

 

Religion is utmost important today because of the way it shapes the style of thinking and culture of people, who in turn are responsible for the improvement of science. So if to see in the broader prospective religion provides the space for science. Today importance of religion is to unite people around the world. It is to seek the God on earth. It is to guide everybody, to move. It is to teach everybody beauty of world and sensitiveness of others. It is to guide us on path of darkness. It is to fill blank spaces in our lives. It is to teach us to love. Science don’t work against religion, it actually works as part of it and both of them works to improve our planet and our lives.

 

Its not all of us who makes religions and move science, its only very few of us. Only these people’s hands holds the power to transform the tomorrow’s world, so don’t cripple there mind by teaching to work against each other. This world needs both monks and scientist, no one can complete without the other.
